The Public Theater announced on Monday that its 2012-13 season will include two new musicals: A three-hour adaptation of Edna Ferber’s novel “Giant,” with a score by Michael John LaChiusa (“Hello Again,” “Queen of the Mist”), and a deconstruction of the rise and fall of Imelda Marcos by the pop musicians David Byrne and Fatboy Slim.
